In the Book of Revelation in chapter 22, verse 2, John tells of the "Tree of Life … on either side of the river … which bear 12 manners of fruits that yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree for the healing of the nations." Cayce explained, "That as the tree planted by the water of life; that is, as the sturdiness of the purpose of the individual in its sureness in the Christ; and the leaves represent the activities that are as for the healing of all that the individual activities may contact, even in material life. And that it is continuous, as by month, as for the purpose, as for the activities. …" The Tree of Life is within - psychologically speaking as well as physically speaking. Psychologically speaking as the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, and physically speaking, the tree is symbolized by the spinal column/brain and nerves - the spinal column and brain representing the trunk and the nerves going out from it symbolizing the branches and the leaves of the tree which carry the Water of Life to every cell of our greater body. Or to remain in the realm of human physiology, as the blood which branches out into every part of the body through the arteries and veins. The twelve manners of fruits carry multiple meanings: the twelve Sephiroth on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the twelve Schools, Colleges, and Challenges of Life, the twelve major nerve centers in the body/twelve cranial nerves, the twelve major meridians on each side of the body, the twelve souls of the oversoul and the twelve oversouls of the monad, the twelve Tribes of Judah, the twelve sons of Jacob, the twelve loaves of hallowed bread in the Holy Place of the tabernacle of the Israelites, the twelve psalms attributed to King David’s psalmist and chief musician Asaph past life of Jesus, the twelve signs of the Zodiac, Mother Mary in Revelations standing on the moon with twelve stars in her crown expecting, at age twelve Jesus was separated from his parents during the feast of Passover in Jerusalem where they found him preaching in a temple three days later, the Essenes prepared twelve virgins as candidates for potential mothers or channels for the Christ Child Jesus the immaculately conceived Mother Mary was chosen to play this role, the twelve disciples who according to the Universal Mind "represented major centers or regions or realms through which consciousness became aware in the body of the earth itself, so did He Jesus find - as in thine own self ye find - those twelve stumblingstones, those twelve things that oft not only disgust but disappoint thee", the twelve hours in a day times two, the twelve major archetypes, and the twelve months, the 12 stones as depicted in I Kings 18:31 which Elijah took to repair the broken altar and build a new one for the Lord, the 12 stones which the Israelites took from the bed of the River Jordan and set up as a circle at Gilgal in memorial to their miraculous crossing of the river when they entered Jericho in the Promised Land under Joseph’s supervision. Edgar Cayce said that "twelve is a combination of forces that brings those strengths into the world necessary to replenish it spiritually. … It takes the voices of twenty to drown out the voices of twelve." He also suggested that Jesus was born at midnight, "this hour representing not only his completion and perfection, but also the necessity for that spiritual force to move into the earth to overcome worldly influences." Twelve is a powerful unit of energy, denotes a cycle for growth and development, and also embodies the number 3, the trinity. The twelve manners of fruits yielding their fruits every month symbolizes continuity, perseverance, and the continually forthcoming abundance of Spirit. The leaves of the tree being for the healing of the nations represent everything we say and do to others and to ourselves that brings about healing. You pass this initiation (1) first by becoming as a tree which is a multidimensional archetype by being firmly rooted in the soil of God’s Laws and embodying your divine nature (2) secondly by bringing the twelve manners of fruits - the twelve major archetypes, the twelve astrological signs of the zodiac, the twelve Sephiroth, the twelve Schools, Colleges, and Challenges of Life, … - to full fruition so (3) the leaves may bring forth the healing of the nations which is symbolic of the healing of the 12 major bodily divisions - which according to Cayce are the bones, muscles, ligaments, skin, lungs, heart, blood, liver, central nervous system, cerebrospinal, sympathetic nervous system, and ductless glands - within self and our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
