The Greatness in a Master is His Ability to Know and Exercise the Power of Sacrifice!

By Dr Joshua David Stone & Maria Cecilia A. Gutierrez

Sacrifice as defined in the dictionary, means the ability to give up things for the sake of another. In a spiritual way, it goes to the extent of giving up one’s life for another. As a Bodhisattva, Master Kuan Yin gave up her own spiritual reward and comfort for the sake of all mankind. When she could have entered into her eternal reward, she saw and heard the cries of the world and decided to help all sentient beings on their journey home. Others also have followed suit and have also made the vow of a Bodhisattva. Like the master, their spiritual mission is to serve men on planet earth. Such an act stems from the principle that these masters consider that we are all one. It also follows the golden rule of do unto others, as you would have it done unto yourself.

This is also in line with the excellent verse:

“No greater love is this than a man lay down his life for another.”

The Power Of Sacrifice contains the qualities of:

Sacrificial Love

Unconditional Love

Selflessness

Ego-less ness

And many other similar qualities.

The great Master Jesus is the perfect example, which cannot be outdone by any other. He made this conscious Sacrificial act for unconditional love. Jesus also expresses the perfect example, which shows the Power Of Sacrifice. Through this power he could even raise himself and others from the dead. It is one of the abilities a master has the potential to do. This and others, such as bi-location, miracles, healing powers, etc.

There is so much strength emanating from the power of Sacrifice. It is a daily cup, which God offers each one to drink. Having practiced sacrifice in little things, a day will come for the big sacrifice, which will not seem that big if one is faithful in the little things.

A follower of Jesus gives us a great example of Sacrifice…the sacrifice of himself for his master and Christian teachings. It is the great St. Stephan who sacrificed his life for the faith and endured much affliction. He was but a mere man, made a disciple. But in the moment of truth, The Power of Sacrifice over took him and gave him the strength to be stoned to death without retaliation. As he sacrificed his body, he opened his eyes and he saw the great heavens before him. Truly the Power of Sacrifice filled him with enormous strength and power!

Passing through such tests of sacrifice are also part of the many initiations which one can read and discover in the Correspondence Course number one which contains all the HIDDEN INITIATIONS. This present a few of the many ways even ordinary people have fulfilled the power of sacrifice in their own lives. Today in the New Age, it is seldom that one will come across this teaching, for it is for those who aspire to become a Spiritual Integrated Ascension Master! Amen! Amen! Amen! Kodoish! Kodoish! Kodoish!

My Beloved Readers, I already began discussing some initial thoughts on sacrifice in an early chapter and will not repeat myself here. However, what I would like to add, is that even though sacrifice is not really a sacrifice when you realize you are gaining everything, and I mean everything when you Realize God! Still from another lens there are certain sacrifices one makes! To the consciousness they often feel like sacrifices, which is why we have such a term. It is much like the term forgiveness. There is nothing really to forgive, however, we forgive like we are doing someone a favor. In truth it is ourselves we are doing the favor for!

The Integrated Spiritual Master wants to sacrifice like Kuan Yin with her Bodhisattva vow, because the Master is so filled with love for God, gratitude to God, love for our brothers and sisters, compassion, and desire to serve! As the Master Jesus said, “the greatest among you is the servant of all!”

The Integrated Spiritual Master leads a selfless life, for in achieving wholeness and Self and God Realization, and a right relationship to self and God, and being a cause of their own reality, they experience self as not only having everything but being everything! They have no desires, except to give back and serve. They have no purpose other than to serve God in all His forms and incarnations! So again it feels like one is sacrificing from a third dimensional lens, but from a Self and God realized viewpoint, one understand that one cannot have God except by giving God! The Integrated Spiritual Master understand that God will treat them as they treat their Brothers and Sisters! They understand the great law that Jesus laid out in A Course in Miracles “To have all, give all to all!” The Integrated Spiritual Master also wishes to leave an Earthly Spiritual legacy to contribute to the welfare of the Earth, long after they leave! They also understand that one’s spiritual evolution is connected to one’s Spiritual service. The key to accelerating one’s Ascension in truth is to be of greater service! For they are intimately connected!

Now again Jesus, sacrificed his physical body on the Altar of God! However, was it really a sacrifice? He knew he would be resurrected in three days! He made a sacrifice in going through pain, but not suffering! However, look what he became. He became the Christ in so doing! So again it is okay to look at it as a sacrifice, but from another lens, the Master Jesus was becoming and gaining everything, so from that lens it is not a sacrifice at all!

However, in the beginning and middles stages of the spiritual path, it feels like a great many sacrifices to most people which is fine. That is why we have the word and why it is a useful term, for from this perspective a great deal of sacrifices do need to be made! The spiritual path requires self discipline, and giving up temptation, lower self desire, over indulgence, extremism, hedonism, over indulgence in the five senses, carnal sexuality, negative ego thinking and so on. Now if you call these sacrifices then so be it! You will get to a point however, where it is not a sacrifice for the inner peace, the bliss, the Spiritual ecstasy you feel being one with God makes you feel like you were sacrificing to do the opposite! So it is all perspective my friends!

One also may sacrifice a certain kind of life style for a greater purpose, which is a form of sacrifice! However, any type of God life which every form is chosen is better than a life of hedonism, over-identification with matter and the five senses, lower self desire, negative ego, victim consciousness and being cut off somewhat from God in your consciousness, not in reality!

So Kuan Yin is correct, there are sacrifices to be made! However, it must be stated here that the spiritual path is the path of integration, and even in choosing a spiritual path at the highest level, it is God’s Will that you can still enjoy the earth and earth life! The difference is that instead of being over-identified with matter, one lives in this world but not of this world. One keeps their head in the clouds and their feet firmly planted on the ground. One is fully involved with earth life and can have fun, sexual relations, and enjoyment, however, it is done from involved detachment, rather than attachment! So it is not like you have to sacrifice all of the Earth and Earth pleasures, just the lower self ones, like pornography, carnal sexuality, drugs, bad habits, addictions and so on. However, as an Integrated Spiritual Master it is still possible to very much enjoy earth life and God wants you to. It is just done with your spiritual purpose and mission coming first!

Another sacrifice people talk about is being lonely! In truth an Integrated Spiritual Master is alone but not lonely, for they feel at one with God and at one with the Ascended Masters, Archangels and Angels, and so on. There is a phase where one has to let go of the dead wood. However, with every death there is rebirth, as one creates and magnetizes a whole new set of spiritual friends and relationships! Jesus spoke of this when he said, “I come not to bring peace but a sword!” Sounds like a strange statement coming from Jesus, however, he was speaking of sacrificing, sometimes family and friends to follow the Truth, the Way and the Life! In certain cases this must be done and one has to accept this!

So in conclusion there are a great many sacrifices one must make on the Spiritual path, however, in the end the one thing I promise you, is that none of them will seem like sacrifices, for in achieving Self and God Realization you literally have and are everything, and the things you were attached to before, will seem absolutely meaningless compared to all you have gained and all that is to come! So let it be written! So let it be done!
