2 Wesak Full Moons in 2008

2 Wesak Full Moons in 2008: April 20th and May 20th

This year 2008 sees the occurrence of what is termed “a blue moon” which means that the full moon appears twice in the sign of Taurus, first on April 20th and then on May 20th.

Calendar blue moons occur when the solar and lunar cycles don’t quite match up. Usually each calendar year will contain 12 full lunar cycles plus around 11 days to spare. These “spare” days accumulate over the years, resulting in around about every three years, a year with thirteen full moons in it. Only “once in a blue moon,” as the saying goes, this blue moon occurs during Wesak.

2008 is such a year and so we have two dates with an opportunity to celebrate the Wesak festival.

Therefore the I AM University has chosen to honor and celebrate both dates; the first one on April 20th will be a building of energies set in motion to initiate a powerful and grounding Spiritual force which will serve to add to the physical Wesak Celebration on May 20th in Mondsee, Austria. So on April 20th we will do some form of planetary world service online, and on May 20th we will actually celebrate Wesak live in Mondsee/Salzburg.

We would like to invite you to join us for both events so that we can truly make the most of this auspicious double Moon celebration.
