TAXI AT THE AIRPORT
A taxi stand can be found directly in front of the airport terminal. It will take you about 15 minutes to go from the Salzburg Airport to Salzburg city, and approximately 30 minutes to go from Salzburg Airport to Mondsee. The fee for a taxi from Salzburg Airport to Mondsee is about €50. The fee for a taxi from Salzburg Airport to Salzburg city is about €15, depending on where you want to go. There is just a very small taxi service in Mondsee itself. For your trip back from Mondsee to the Airport, your hotel will be happy to make arrangements for you upon request. Train & Bus
There is no train going from Salzburg to Mondsee; however, there is a bus going from Salzburg Airport to Salzburg Main Railway Station (=Salzburg Hauptbahnhof; also Salzburg Hbf). Bus number 2 goes at regular intervals of about 15-20 minutes between Salzburg Airport and Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. At Salzburg Hauptbahnhof you can visit the city and/or switch over to bus and so go by bus to Mondsee.

Postamt means „postal office.“ If you go by bus, the bus will drop you off at the postal office in Mondsee which lies central. Mondsee is very small – you will quickly find your way around it. It takes almost an hour to go from Salzburg city to Mondsee by bus. A one-way-ticket is €5,40. Tickets are bought from the bus driver directly. The bus, called Postbus, going from Salzburg to Mondsee has number 140; it goes hourly during weekdays, and every other hour on weekends.

Directions from Salzburg Airport to Mondsee
Take A1 Westautobahn (=Freeway) heading towards Wien / Linz / Kleßheim. After going about 30 km on the freeway, take the exit 265 towards Mondsee. Turn right onto B154 / Mondsee-Bundesstraße heading Mondsee. At the roundabout , Mondsee-Bundesstraße, take the 2nd exit heading Bad Ischgl / St. Gilgen / Unterach am Attersee / Mondsee Süd / Mondsee Mitte. Continue along B154 heading towards the mountains. On the left hand side you will see an OMV gas station … keep going straight and follow the street as it slowly bends to the right. Make a left onto B151 Attersee-Bundesstrasse, heading Unterach am Attersee / Oberwang / Mondsee Süd. Pass the first major street on the left side and take a left onto Dr Franz Müller Strasse (=lined with very large trees on the left and on the right), heading Mondsee Zentrum. You are now heading right into the center of Mondsee. On the right side you will see a church. Right before the church the street forks. Remain on the right lane. Pass by the bank, called Sparkasse, and the street will take you to a parking area.
Directions to the Auditorium
Go to the place in front of the church, called Marktplatz, which is located at the heart of Mondsee. Walk towards the church. As you walk towards the church, on the left side you will see a café called Schloßbräu. Pass beyond it. About 15 meters before the actual church you will see a gateway or passageway on the left side. As you look through the gateway you will see the “Hotel Schloss Mondsee” Walk through the gateway, courtyard, garden, and actual hotel. After you have passed the hotel make a right and walk up the stairs. As you walk up the stairs you will see the Landesmusikschule Mondsee (Musical School Mondsee) on the left, and once you are at the top of the stairs you will also see the Wesak auditorium on the right. The Wesak auditorium is inside the Kultur- und Veranstaltungszentrum Schloss Mondsee. Above the entrance door there is a sign that reads: Eingang Festssaal – Tagungssaal. There is a parking lot right in front of the Landesmusikschule Mondsee and another one north of the castle (north of the Schloss Mondsee), called Parplatz Nord (parking lot north). Please park at Parkplatz Nord. The parking slots in front of the Musical School and Hotel Schloss Mondsee are preferably reserved for visitors of the hotel and shops located there. (Don’t park in the blue zone.) Parkplatz Nord is just a couple minutes from the auditorium.
